Alice started at DiningSix in January 2019, when she had the opportunity to join the opening of KöD Oslo Posthallen as restaurant manager.
Before joining DiningSix, she worked at Sumo in Solli Plass. There she participated in the opening as assistant restaurant manager and later took over as restaurant manager. After her time at KöD Posthallen, Alice has had the pleasure of being involved in several start-ups at DiningSix, including as general manager of Basso Oslo and Basso Bergen. Each start-up has been a unique journey with new challenges and a lot of learning.
It was never the plan for Alice to work in the restaurant business. She did her bachelor's degree in Bergen and originally intended to do a master's degree in Copenhagen afterwards. Oslo and Sumo were only supposed to be a stop on the road, before the studies continued. The restaurant job started as an extra job alongside her studies – waitressing and bartending to earn some money – but eventually she realized how much she enjoyed the industry.
“The best thing about this business is the people and the energy. No two days are the same and I love being part of an environment that is always in motion. I also think it's incredibly fun to work with people who are passionate about the same things as me, and to help develop both employees and restaurants. Opening places like KöD Oslo and Basso Bergen has been incredibly exciting - it's a very special feeling to see something you've helped build succeed."
Natascha, or "Nalle", is what you call a "DiningSix OG". Nalle has been involved from the very beginning and can now put ten great years in the group on his CV.
Natascha started as hostess manager, then she worked part-time as a waitress and kitchen assistant. With the expansion to London, Winnie moved across the pond and helped kick-start the UK adventure.
Today she is the manager of Klokken Aarhus and has the whole house in the palm of her hand! Natascha has also taken an education in Sport and Event Management.
"Don't see limitations. There is nothing 'just' about being a waiter, because you can really achieve success and find many paths in the industry. I am a good example that you can certainly grow and develop within the industry."
Jeppe has been with DiningSix since 2016 and is currently responsible for the operation of all DiningSix restaurants. Impressive? YES!
Jeppe started as a part-time waiter at KöD. He had originally planned to study further, but was captured by the wonderful community and the opportunity to be given a lot of responsibility. That's why he accepted a full-time position, and he hasn't looked back since.
"I started as a part-time waiter, and today I am responsible for all operations in all DiningSix restaurants. It has been a long journey that has required hard work, but today I can proudly say that I have made a career in the restaurant industry."
Morten is the whole company's fixer! If there is anyone who knows the restaurant industry inside out... then it is the good Morten E.
It was not always in the cards for Morten to stay with DiningSix. He has a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Geoinformatics with him. Morten was employed by KöD in 2016. Today he is Procurement Manager with responsibility in three countries.
